Description
Green Cleaner kills spider mites and their eggs, predatory mites, aphids, white flies, broad mites and russet mites on contact. This safe & all-natural, 100 percent concentrate product can be used as a solution to dip tender new cuttings in, to prevent garden contamination when outsourcing plant starts, and can be used from start through harvest as a treatment. We start with soybean oil and sodium lauryl sulfate. The soybean oil acts to quickly suffocate pests, such as spider mites, broad mites, and russet mites, while the sodium lauryl sulfate coats bugs in slimy goodness to immobilize them. Green Cleaner is also very effective against the common fungus, powdery mildew. Powdery mildew is a problem so prevalent, that it effects growers from coast to coast, and is a constant source of irritation to gardeners in temperamental climates where humidity is difficult to control. PM is a disease caused by different species of fungi. Each species attacks specific or wide varieties of plants. The asexual production of spores can reproduce in as little as 48 hours. The spores move from plant to plant by wind, insect contact, and even gardeners. Many times outsourcing new plants and bringing them into your garden can bring in unwarranted spores of PM. Infection is favored in high humidity (50-90%), especially during nighttime or "lights off" hours, when temperatures can fluctuate between 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit. The symptoms of PM, well known to experienced growers, appear in the form of white circular spots that grow as the threadlike mycelium—fungal filaments, spread over plant and leaf surfaces. This gives the fungi a "powdery" appearance, hence the name "powdery mildew". Green Cleaner hits powdery mildew with a one-two punch. It coats the PM with active oil, which suppresses and limits spore reproduction. The combination of alcohol and citric acid provides the second "hit" to the PM. The alcohol dehydrates the mildew, which favors humidity and moisture, necessary for its survival and prevalence, while the citric acid acidifies, altering surface pH, simultaneously killing with its natural anti-fungal properties. The result is a natural and environmentally friendly "kill agent" for the invasive powdery mildew. An important factor to consider when choosing an appropriate pesticide is whether insects or fungi can build immunity to repeat applications. Many conventional chemical based pesticides can be very effective at killing mature pests, but what about their eggs? Green Cleaner works with extreme efficiency on both adult bugs and their eggs, at the same time. When only mature pests are eliminated and their eggs remain, so-called "super bugs" are born. Super bugs are the result of repeat applications of the same chemical agents that kill mature pests, but rather than destroying their eggs, only coat them. Case studies have shown that these coated eggs can result in pests born with a resilience or tolerance to the chemicals that coated their eggs. This has resulted in pests, such as spider mites, that require multiple products and numerous applications to eliminate the problem. The term "super mites" was coined, with the belief that these mites were stronger than those of the past. In essence, they are the same bug with a resistance to common chemicals to which they have been exposed. When using Green Cleaner as a foliar application, make sure to fully coat all plant surfaces, as it only kills bugs that it comes into contact with. We recommend spraying it a couple of days in a row to ensure full coverage and total extermination of the pest population. Usage. 1-2 oz per Gallon
